If you want to successfully abstain from sugar long-term, lose weight and keep it off, reverse disease, and find genuine peace and freedom around food, abstinence is essential. Abstinence is our #1 priority. Embraced and implemented correctly, abstinence will put your addiction into remission so you can move onto deeper recovery work.
SUGAR DRAGON™
I teach an addiction recovery technique that comes out of the drug and alcohol recovery field. It works quickly and is easy to learn. It teaches you how to observe and ignore the voice of your Sugar Dragon(TM) that suggests and justifies sugar consumption. For many, this technique is the 'missing link' in their efforts to stay sugar-free.
TRAUMA INFORMED
This program integrates somatic experiencing and trauma-informed recovery tools to heal the long-term effects of early childhood adversities especially insecure attachment. This program explores the link between women, food and trauma helping us to understand that until we feel safe in our bodies, we will struggle to let go of our addictions (sugar included).
JOY
Learning to regulate our own nervous system is life-changing work! Most of us developed a nervous system that is stress-sensitive and easily overwhelmed. We will learn how to get into the parasympathetic and stay there. We will learn how to expand the capacity of our nervous system to handle both stress and good feelings. If we cannot handle feeling joy, we will sabotage our recovery. This is an often overlooked aspect of recovery.
SUPPORT AND ACCOUNTABILITY
This program offers intensive support in the form of daily drop-in support calls (M-F), weekly group coaching calls, peer support accountability buddies, and unlimited email. Together you will have access to the information and inspiration you need to navigate one full year of life 100% sugar-free.
HOLISTIC RECOVERY
Addiction cannot be healed through physical abstinence alone. In fact, abstinence is not the end goal of recovery, it is a tool of recovery. We get abstinent so we can heal mentally, physically, and spiritually. Most people get this backwards. They go to therapy hoping to fix themselves so they can fix their food problem. This approach doesn’t work for addiction. First, we fix our food, then we heal ourselves. Abstinence first, deeper recovery work comes second.
RELAPSE PREVENTION
Most people are not trained in relapse prevention, and this can be their downfall. They don’t know the signs and make simple mistakes. Neglecting self-care, getting too busy, being chronically overwhelmed, not asking for help, substituting one addiction for another, not planning and prioritizing meals, not knowing how to self-soothe and manage stress are all common mistakes that lead to relapse. Relapse prevention training is essential to long-term sugar freedom.
WEIGHT LOSS
We don't have a weight problem. We have an addiction. If we take care of our addiction, our bodies will take care of weight loss. Avoiding sugar to lose weight is simply another diet. Diets don't work. Feelings of deprivation and bingeing will sabotage you. To achieve long term recovery, you will need to 'uncouple' your weight loss goal from your efforts to get sugar free. This will make all the difference.
NEGATIVE THOUGHTS
Our minds can either be a faithful superpower working for us or our worst enemy. CBT, Positive Intelligence and Parts Work are three approaches that will help us master our minds and access unconscious fear, anxiety and limiting beliefs. They take place once a day Monday through Friday. Pop in to ask questions and receive extra coaching and support. Also, connect with your peers and deepen your sense of community.
It means we will focus on helping our bodies to feel safe and supported through somatic experiencing tools so they can stop being stuck in a chronic stress response. The course will directly integrate neurobiology and Mother Hunger into addiction recovery. It understands that the deepest possible recovery work we can do is somatic.

The VIP Private Coaching Option is the best of both worlds. You will participate in the group coaching program and you will receive (2) 45 minute private coaching calls per month for the entire year (24 in total). You will work with me one-on-one to learn and practice the material in this course. This is a great option for individuals who tend to sign up for programs and then fade away. And for individuals who would prefer a private place to share and process thoughts and feelings. And for individuals who need and want extra support and accountability.
